Our Strategy
BASIAN has privileged access to the Hard To Reach section of the community, through a well designed mentoring and outreach program. BASIAN have taken it from a successful nationally recognised community engagement model, which they have worked on with UCLAN (University of Central Lancashire) which heads in community research. This is a unique programme to our delivery along with having a privileged access to the labelled “Hard To Reach” members of the community through the Outreach Engagement Program. We have implemented ULA (User Led Approach) which gives those young people engaging with BASIAN an incentive to complete the programme, and an opportunity to become volunteers. This in return has numerous benefits, such as the individuals changing their life around through the engagement and support offered to them as well as a wider community benefit. Through this well designed peer mentor scheme BASIAN train those who they come in to contact with through the outreach engagement programme, and give volunteering and mentoring training, as well as group work training.
